British dance stars Rudimental shared their musical expertise with a group of underprivileged youths by hosting a Djing masterclass in London.
Bandmember Leon Rolle, also known as Dj Locksmith, led a class in east London last weekend (10-11May14) for a group of youngsters through the Kids Company charity, which helps vulnerable and traumatised children.
The event was held as part of a series of workshops by Defected Records and Pioneer electronics, whose bosses donated equipment to the charity so kids can practice their Dj skills.
Rolle says of the initiative, "This project is a cause close to my own heart. I grew up in a similar area and understand what many of these kids have been through. Now they're getting a chance at something that stimulates them."
Kids Company spokeswoman Camila Batmanghelidjh adds, "It's not every day these kids see a celebrity Dj in action. These masterclasses show the children what they're capable of achieving."
