Comedienne Roseanne Barr has been given a big boost in her bid to become the next U.S. President - her name will be added to the California primary ballot as a candidate for the Green Party.
The funnywoman filed documentsto become the political group's official representative last week (ends05Feb12) and her election campaign will get underway at the forthcoming presidential primary on 5 June (12).
Barr will be one of 24 candidates seeking the public vote at the California event - but she will have to wait until July (12) to learn if her efforts to challenge incumbent President Barack Obama have paid off.
Green Party members will select its top candidate to enter the race for the White House at its convention in Baltimore, Maryland in July (12).
