The son of legendary British comic RONNIE BARKER has been released from prison after serving just three months of a year-long sentence for possessing child porn images.

Adam Barker, 44, went on the run after being quizzed by cops over the allegations, but handed himself in last year (12). He pleaded guilty to 20 charges, all relating to indecent images of children found on his computer, and was handed a 12-month jail term in October (12).

Barker was freed from prison on 22 January (13) due to time spent on remand, and is now allegedly able to access the $2.24 million (£1.4 million) inheritance left by his parents, Ronnie and Joy, who died in 2005 and 2012 respectively.

Barker's early release has been criticised by Peter Saunders from Britain's National Association for People Abused in Childhood, who tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "It does seem extraordinarily lenient, while the consequences for abuse survivors lasts a lifetime."
