Irish heartthrob singer Ronan Keating is planning an extraordinary endeavour to raise money for his late mother's charity - he wants to climb Mount Everest.
The LIFE IS A ROLLERCOASTER hitmaker's mum MARIE died of breast cancer five years ago, and Ronan has worked tirelessly since then to raise funds for a cancer charity set up in her memory that sends mobile educational units across Ireland giving advice about all forms of the disease.
He now plans to climb the world's top peaks in order to fund the expensive projects.
Ronan says, "It's my next challenge and I really want to do it. I've been reading up about the logistics and I'm determined to do it. I want to raise money for mum's charity."
As preparation, Ronan is to do a sponsored 420-mile walk across his native Ireland that will take him two weeks to complete, beginning on 17 May (03).24/04/2003 02:05
