Ronan Keating has had a ''terrible'' few years.
The Boyzone singer admits the loss of bandmate Stephen Gately and split from his wife Yvonne - following on from an affair he had - have hit him hard and he wants to be in a place where he has ''no stress'' in his life.
He said: ''I've broken down and I've had times where I've had to retreat. I'm only human. I've failed at certain things and learnt a lot and I've been through things that I wouldn't wish on my worse enemy.
''Some things I created myself, other things have just ended up on my lap and there was nothing I could do.
''The amount of stress I've dealt with over the past few years is a terrible thing and it makes you sick. I want to live a life with no stress and real happiness.''
However, it is not all bad for the star, as he admits he is glad he has been in the music industry for as long as he has.
He added: ''Honestly and truly, I'm most proud of my longevity. Next year will mark my 20th year in the music industry and to still be here, enjoying what I do, is a real accomplishment. I feel very lucky to have lasted this long, especially given how disposable artists can be.''
