Movie star and former US President Ronald Reagan died at his home in Hollywood yesterday (05JUN04). He was 93.

Reagan, America's 40th President, passed away from pneumonia with his wife NANCY and children RON JR and Patti Davis by hid bedside.

He was the oldest man to enter the White House, and became the longest-living president.

Current President George W Bush paid his tributes to his predecessor from Paris, France, where he was preparing to meet with war veterans for the 60th anniversary of D-Day (06JUN04).

He said, "A great American life has come to an end." Bush said that under Reagan, "America laid to rest an era of division and self-doubt, and because of his leadership the world laid to rest an era of fear and tyranny."

Prior to his political career, Reagan was a silver screen superstar, appearing in over 50 movies from the late 1930s to 1964.

Highlights of his acting career include THE BAD MAN, Million Dollar Baby, FOR GOD + COUNTRY, BEDTIME FOR BONZO and PRISONER OF WAR. Reagan fought memory loss disease Alzheimer's in the final years of his life.
