Ronald Isley has been honoured at the 2010 Soul Train Awards.
The 69-year-old musician - who is the founding member and lead singer of The Isley Brothers - was recognised for his contribution to soul music at the annual ceremony on Sunday (28.11.10).
He tweeted: "Thanks to all my fans for supporting me for so many years. I am so appreciative!"
Meanwhile, Eminem and Rihanna received the Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year gong for 'Love the Way You Lie', while Alicia Keys took home two awards for Best Female Soul Artist and Record of the Year for 'Unthinkable (I'm Ready)'.
Despite having notched up a string of hits with The Isley Brothers, Ronald hadn't released a solo effort until now.
His debut solo gospel album 'Mr.I' - which was inspired by the time the star spent in prison for tax evasion - was released today (30.11.10), just seven months after his release from jail.
