Songwriter Ron Miller has died after a long battle with cancer. He was 74. Miller died of a cardiac arrest at Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center on Monday (23Jul07) after fighting lung disease emphysema and cancer. The record producer supplied a number of songs for soul legend Stevie Wonder including For Once In My Life which was written on the day his daughter, Lisa Dawn Miller, was born. He also penned pop classics Touch Me In The Morning and worked with artists Judy Garland, Diana Ross and Ray Charles. Daughter Lisa Dawn says, "My father will be reborn every time someone sings one of his songs. When they feel joy or sadness or any emotion, that will be my dad and his words." Miller is survived by his wife, Aurora Miller, and six children. A memorial service has been scheduled for 4 August (07).
