THE Rolling Stones' former publicist PAUL WASSERMAN has died. He was 73. Wasserman passed away at a U.S. hospital on Sunday (18Nov07) after suffering respiratory failure, according to his publicist and friend Joan Myers. The music mogul enjoyed a career spanning four decades, counting The Who, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Neil Diamond among his many clients. But Wasserman's reputation was destroyed in 2000 when he was jailed for six months after pleading guilty to a felony grand theft count and placed on five years' probation. He was also ordered to pay nearly $87,000 (GBP43,500) in restitution.
