Rocker Rod Stewart ensures his children do not take his wealth for granted by making them work for their pocket money.

The Maggie May hitmaker has two sons with his wife Penny Lancaster and she revealed the children are made to do chores to earn their keep.

Lancaster says nine-year-old Alastair and three-year-old Aiden help around the house so they can be responsible and learn a healthy work ethic.

She tells British newspaper The Daily Telegraph, "We have housekeepers but I want the boys to be responsible and get that work ethic early. They should grow up believing that they need to get a job, not only to contribute something to society but to be able to wake up in the morning with a purpose instead of just thinking, 'Well, my dad's rich'."
