Rod Stewart is such a huge model train enthusiast he insists on a backstage area where he can set up tracks before concerts.
The Maggie May singer admits he likes to build model buildings and try out new train acquisitions on the road - because it helps to calm his nerves.
But he's careful not to get too engrossed in his passion.
The avid collector tells Model Railroader magazine, "When I find myself focusing so intently on a model that it ceases to be fun, it's time to walk away, have a cup of tea and come back to it later."
Stewart even offers the publication tips on how to become a great model builder: "An eye for proportion, a sense of what fits naturally, right down to the placement of the advertising signs."
