The Robin Williams starrer License to Wed, opoening today (Tuesday) is not likely to pose any challenge to the blockbusters already in the theaters during the July 4th holiday, critics suggest. "I will confess that the only thing that kept me watching License to Wed until the end (apart from being paid to do so) was the faith, perhaps misplaced, that I will not see a worse movie this year," writes A.O. Scott in the New York Times. Other descriptions of the movie: Jan Stuart, Newsday: "Lamebrain;" Elizabeth Weitman, New York Daily News: "Totally off-course;" Kevin Crust, Los Angeles Times: "Uninspired;" Claudia Puig, USA Today: "Tired and worn;" Wesley Morris, Boston Globe: "The sort of lobotomized, condescendingly lazy movie that leaves you resentful of Hollywood;" Chris Kaltenbach, Baltimore Sun: "An early favorite for worst comedy of the year."
