Robin Williams has been forced to cancel four shows on his new stand-up tour after complaining of shortness of breath.

Doctors are evaluating the actor and comedian's condition and have recommended a week of rest, a press release confirmed.

The Good Will Hunting star had been due to perform two shows at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, before moving on to the UFC Arena in Orlando and the Tampa Sundome.

His Weapons of Self-Destruction tour will now continue on Monday in Jacksonville, Florida and the four cancelled performances will be rescheduled.

Some tickets for the 57-year-old's comeback tour - his first in six years after the record-breaking Robin Williams LIVE on Broadway concerts - sold out in less than ten minutes.
