Bee Gees star Robin Gibb is winning his battle against cancer - doctors have confirmed the disease is in remission.
The veteran singer has been battling liver and colon cancer for a year and has confessed he feared he would die from the disease.
But he was determined not to let the illness overwhelm him, and after an intense course of weekly chemotherapy sessions, the pop star was last month (Mar12) given the news he is on the mend.
He tells Britain's Daily Mail, "As far as the doctors are concerned, they've got it. And that to me is the most important thing. I just want to keep going forward and not look back... I'm doing well, and getting better every day.
"The results of my treatment have been spectacular - that's the doctors' verdict. They're completely stunned by my progress and it gets better all the time. The speed of the treatment and the results have overwhelmed everybody. All the doctors have said so."
Gibb insists when he was diagnosed he immediately vowed to beat the illness but admits he suffered dark days, adding, "I can't deny there was a point when I was scared it was the end. I felt the same as anyone else does when they're struck down with a potentially life-threatening disease. I was asking myself, 'Is this what's going to take me out?'"
