The London leg of Robert Redford's Sundance Film Festival has been cancelled after three years.

The event, a derivative of the actor's annual U.S. festival in Utah, first came to the British capital in 2012 and had been expected to return for a fourth time this year (15), but the 2015 edition has now been called off while bosses assess their options for the future.

A spokesperson tells The Hollywood Reporter, "We loved connecting with the vibrant community of filmmakers and audiences in the U.K., and following a successful three years with The O2 (arena in London), we continue to explore our options for Sundance London. Though we are not confirmed to host public events in London this year, we hope to be able to return very soon."

This year's (15) U.S. Sundance Film Festival is due to run in Utah from 22 January to 1 February (15).
