Has Robert Pattinson cancelled a press engagement for his forthcoming movie Cosmopolis? The reports floating around at the moment are inconclusive but you certainly couldn't blame R-Patz for not wanting to deal with the world's press right now, whether it's in order to promote a new movie, or not. The news of his girlfriend Kristen Stewart's recent infidelity has been front page news since the rumours broke last week and Robert won't be relishing the thought of the inevitable questioning that faces him. There has been some suggestion that Robert has cancelled an unidentified press engagement that he was supposed to attend for the David Cronenberg-directed movie but according to his representative, that's all a load of baloney.
E! Online asked the rep about the alleged cancellation and were told "Cosmopolis is a film that Robert is very proud of and looks forward to supporting. No confirmed engagements have been canceled. Any reports to the contrary are inaccurate." The studio had apparently scheduled a press junket over the weekend of August 10, in Los Angeles, though it does appear that these plans have been scrapped. It's currently unclear whether or not the movie will receive any red carpet premieres. The movie was unveiled at this year's Cannes Film Festival, where Pattinson revealed that he was surprised at how well the movie had been received.
"I literally didn't watch one second of the movie, I was waiting for people to walk out," admitted Pattinson. "I was expecting a fight." He didn't get a fight, however. What he got was a standing ovation; no mean feat given the notoriously harsh critics at Cannes.
