Actor Robert Hughes has been removed from Britain and flown back to his native Australia under police escort to face accusations of child sex offences.
The former Hey Dad..! star was arrested in London in August (12) over allegations he indecently assaulted five youngsters in Australia between 1985 and 1990.
He was released on bail while Australian officials began extradition proceedings, and the request was granted last month (Nov12).
British authorities have now handed the 64 year old over to Australian police officers, who escorted him onto a Sydney-bound plane.
Hughes arrived in Sydney on Thursday morning (13Dec12) and was taken to the city's Central Local Court for a hearing, during which he was granted bail but ordered to surrender his passport, live at home with his wife, and report to police three times a week during the ongoing legal proceedings.
He is due back in court next month (Jan13) when he is expected to plead not guilty to 11 child sex offences.
