Reformed drink and drug addict Robert Downey Jr. has very little memory of the movies he shot in the late 1990s - because he was permanently intoxicated.
The actor - who was in and out of jail from 1996 to 2000 on a series of drink and drug convictions - still managed to win work when he wasn't locked up in prison, but admits his days on the sets of such movies as The Gingerbread Man, U.S. Marshals and Bowfinger are all a blur.
He says, "I think stuff like, 'That was a fun day out but, God, I ate way too much rice before lunch.' Or, 'Did I bang her?' That type of stuff.
"I know exactly what movies I was almost continuously drunk on when we filmed."
