The prosecution in Robert Blake's murder trial is expected to rest its case later today (14FEB05) in Van Nuys, California, after showing jurors a jailhouse interview the actor recorded with TV interviewer Barbara Walters.

In the interview, which aired on US news show 20/20 in February 2003, a furious and crying Blake insisted he was innocent.

The reviewing of the interview is expected to end 28 days of prosecution in the trial, which has seen more than 60 witnesses take the stand since it began in December (04).

Today, the jury was also presented with evidence of a MasterCard receipt for a meal at Art's Deli, which corroborates a previous witness' claims that he dined with Blake there on 11 March 2001, and plotted to kill the actor's wife.

The jury members will also hear taped telephone calls Blake made from jail before the trial wraps for the day.

Blake stands accused of shooting his wife Bonny Lee Bakley in May 2001.
