British pop star Robbie Williams is planning to spend a staggering $1.5 million (GBP800,000) on an indoor soccer pitch, so he play the game in private with pals.
The multi-millionaire wants to install the full-sized fixture at his Los Angeles home.
He originally intended to sculpt an outdoor pitch at the $9.75 million (GBP5 million) Hollywood Hills pad - but friends say he is paranoid about being spied on.
A source tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "Robbie is passionate about football. He's paranoid about people spying on his games.
"He thinks if he invites big stars over then helicopters will try and get pictures and that will stop them from coming over."
The source adds that Williams hopes David Beckham will join him for games when he signs for LA Galaxy in the summer (07).
