Pop star Robbie Williams' painting talents have caught the attention of a private British art collector, who has bought four of his self-portraits.

The ANGELS singer - who committed his likeness to canvas in 2000 - is a lifetime fan of pop artist Andy Warhol and has been collecting his work since 1999.

According to enthusiasts, Warhol's influence can clearly be recognised in the Williams paintings that sold for $4,140 (GBP2,300) at BLOOMSBURY AUCTIONS in central London yesterday (01DEC04).

The pieces originally went on display at the Tate Gallery in Liverpool, England, in 2001.
