British pop star Robbie Williams is refusing to release his latest single INTENSIVE CARE in the US - because no one there knows who he is.

The ANGELS hitmaker is one of the UK's biggest selling artists after shooting to fame in boyband Take That, but can wander the streets of America inconspicuously, despite making Los Angeles his home.

And in a bid to preserve his anonymity in the country, he has chosen not to publicise or release his new record.

Williams says, "I live in America. Nobody knows me there. I can pick my nose... get away with a lot of things that I wouldn't be able to get away with in the rest of the world, and then everywhere else I go I'm a pop star.

"And it's fun - it's like being Batman."
