The former Take That singer has finally found a diet that works for him and keeps him trim - but he has no control over what his body craves in the night.

In a candid new interview with Italy's Radio DeeJay, the Angels star reveals he suffers from "night eating".

"I get up in the middle of the night (and) go to the fridge," he says.

And the 42-year-old singer admits he doesn't want anything healthy for his night feasts.

"I don't want lettuce," he adds. "It's so weird."

Robbie first realised he had a problem earlier this year (16), tweeting: "So this actually happened: Sleep walking to the fridge. Then sleep eating. Found out the next day."

His on-air revelation comes just weeks after his wife Ayda Field opened up about her husband's weight and diet obsession on her British TV show Loose Women.

She revealed Williams goes out of his way to stay in shape, revealing, "He was called fat when he was 15 in Take That, which I think is disgusting. He has been on a diet ever since."

And he always refuses desert: "He always says no to pie at birthdays and Christmas...," she added. "My man should be allowed to have pie!"
