Rocker and filmmaker Rob Zombie is moving forward with plans to shoot a Halloween movie about killer clowns after declaring his crowdfunding campaign a success.
The Devil's Reject director launched the Fanbacked.com project in July (14) in a bid to raise money to make 31, about a group of carnival workers who are kidnapped by an evil clown.
Zombie did not list a target figure for the campaign, but offered up various rewards to fans in exchange for donations, ranging from a keychain and bottle opener to an executive producer credit for $10,000 (£6,250).
The fundraiser's deadline appropriately fell on Halloween (31Oct14) and Zombie has now announced production will begin in February (15).
Zombie says, "Without the fans raising funds and helping to build buzz, a crazy film like this would have been almost impossible to get off the ground. I owe the fans big time on this one."
