Troubled actor Rip Torn has had his Wednesday (17Feb10) court date postponed until next month (Mar10) due to a scheduling conflict.
The Men In Black star, real name Elmore Rual Torn, was due to appear before a Connecticut judge this week to answer burglary and weapons charges after he was caught breaking into a bank in January (10).
Police found Torn sprawled on the floor of the Litchfield Bancorp building in his hometown of Salisbury clutching a loaded revolver.
The actor, who was reportedly two-and-a-half times over the legal alcohol limit at the time of his arrest, was charged with a string of offences, including carrying a pistol without a permit, carrying a firearm while intoxicated, first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespass and third-degree criminal mischief.
He was released on $100,000 (£62,500) bail and subsequently checked himself into an alcohol treatment centre in New York.
Torn was expected to return to court on Wednesday to enter a plea but he will now be required back at Connecticut's Litchfield Superior Court on 9 March (10).
The embattled star has a history of alcohol abuse and was given probation last year (09) following a driving under the influence arrest in December 2008.
