Following weeks of hype, Rihanna 's 'We Found Love' hit the airwaves on Thursday (22nd September 2011). The Calvin Harris produced dance track is the first single to be taken from the R&B star's as-yet-untitled sixth album, due for release in November, reports MTV News.
The singer had excited fans on Wednesday with a series of teaser tweets, first sharing the lyrics of the new single, and later the record's cover art. As expected, the track is a dance-floor ready track with heavy synths, a pulsing beat and robotic vocals. Lyrics include, "Yellow diamonds in the light, And we're standing side by side, As your shadow crosses mine, What it takes to come alive", while the chorus features the Barbadian superstar repeating, "We found love in a hopeless place". The single artwork features Rihanna dressed in full denim and large boots, staring intensely down the camera lens from the sidewalk. Producer Harris told Twitter followers on Wednesday, "Excited for people to hear the new @rihanna song, i can tell u she sounds like an #angel!".
'We Found Love' is tipped for release on 11th October 2011, although Island Def Jam are yet to confirm the release date. Rihanna's last album, 'Loud', peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart and went five-times platinum in the UK.
