The Work hitmaker brought the weekend to a close in Chelmsford, Essex, on Sunday (21Aug16), but disappointed the crowd who were left waiting in the rain for her to come on stage.

"I am really upset about how late you are right now please hurry it's raining @Rihanna (sic)," wrote on disgruntled fan on Twitter. "@rihanna 25 minutes late and counting. Not impressed #vfestival," posted another.

Formula One racing champion Lewis Hamilton was at the side of the stage cheering her on, amid rumours of a romance between the pair which began last year (15).

"V Festival, what the f**k is up?" Rihanna shouted to the crowd. "You know how much I love my Brits, my U.K. navy. You guys have always been good to me from the beginning of my career, which believe it or not has been 11 years ago.

"I don't want to say that out loud 'cos it makes me feel old and s**t," she joked, before firing out hits Umbrella, Work, We Found Love and Kiss it Better.

Rihanna's headline set at V Festival on Sunday, which closed the two-day music event, was also the last night of the European-leg of her Anti World Tour.

The 28-year-old posted a video on Snapchat after her headline set, congratulating her team for the tour's success while cheering and drinking champagne.

Rihanna and her team chanted the Queen song We Are The Champions, and wildly toasted to the success of her massive European tour which played in 31 cities.

The Barbadian beauty has just three more dates left on her world tour before she can finally take a well-earned break. She will be performing at the Made in America Festival in Philadelphia on 3 September, and the Global Citizen Festival in New York on 24 September.

She will also be joining her rumoured boyfriend Lewis as she performs at the Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix on 27 November.
