Bluegrass superstar Ricky Skaggs is championing a new 12-year-old mandolin player on his SKAGGS FAMILY RECORDS label because he thinks the kid has "a gift from God".

The COUNTRY BOY hitmaker discovered RYAN HOLLADAY seven years ago when he became the youngest performer at the GRAND OLE OPRY in Nashville, Tennessee.

And now he's producing the young mandolin player's first album, NEW KID IN TOWN.

He says, "Every time I hear Ryan Holladay play and sing, I'm truly amazed. He just keeps getting better all the time. He truly has a special gift. The best part about Ryan is that he knows where his gift comes from."

The 12-year-old also sings on the album, which features one track, MIDNIGHT RADIO, written specially for him by country star Dierks Bentley.
