Ricky Gervais shocked audience members at the Golden Globes by making fun of A-list guests.

The British funnyman got crowds booing after hinting that famous Scientologists are gay, introducing Bruce Willis as "Ashton Kutcher's dad" and teasing other celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp and Charlie Sheen.

The 49-year-old actor and comedian made the audience gasp when he used Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor's gay roles in 'I Love You, Phillipp Morris' as an opportunity to make fun of Scientologists like Tom Cruise and John Travolta.

Speaking at the awards ceremony in Los Angeles last night (16.01.11) he quipped: "Two heterosexual actors pretending to be gay - which is the exact opposite of some famous Scientologists."

He also told guests that they should look forward to: "A night of partying and heavy drinking - or as Charlie Sheen calls it, breakfast."

The 'Office' star then ridiculed Angelina and Johnny's film 'The Tourist' - implying that the only reason it got a nomination was because the Hollywood Foreign Press "accept bribes".

He said: "I haven't seen it. There's this ridiculous rumour going around that the only reason 'The Tourist' was nominated was so that the Hollywood Foreign Press could hang out with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. That's rubbish. They also accepted bribes."
