British comedian Ricky Gervais buys his family lottery tickets for the festive season - because he forgets to do his Christmas shopping.

THE OFFICE star, 44, insists there is nothing wrong with giving people a bit of luck for Christmas, as family members have previously won money from his gifts.

He says, "I was going to see my relatives and their kids and I'd left it to the last minute.

"So I bought each of them GBP10 worth of scratchcards. One of them won GBP17.

"That was GBP17 of pure profit. It was a valuable life lesson some people are winners, some are losers."
