War hero-turned-actor J.R. Martinez saw off competition from Ricki Lake and Rob Kardashian to be crowned the winner of U.S. TV competition Dancing With The Stars.
Lake came in third place, while Kim Kardashian's younger brother was runner-up in the show's two-hour finale on Tuesday night (22Nov11).
However, it was All My Children star Martinez and his partner Karina Smirnoff who were handed the mirror ball trophy after impressing the judging panel and viewers.
Accepting his prize, the former soldier, who made his acting debut on the hit soap in 2008, told fans, "First and foremost, I want to thank everyone who voted for us for 10 weeks. Thank you, America, for believing in us."
He then told Smirnoff, "You are amazing, and I'm so grateful I was able to be a part of your first mirror ball trophy."
