Rocker Rick Springfield went underground during New York City's rush hour on Wednesday morning (10Oct12) to give an impromptu performance for commuters.

The star took out his guitar and sang his most famous hit, Jessie's Girl, on the platform of the subway as passengers were heading to work at around 8am local time.

Footage of the incident shows Springfield playing a three-song concert surrounded by New Yorkers who gathered around him to sing along.
