Rapper Rick Ross has dismissed rumours he had to cancel his set at a hip-hop concert in Detroit, Michigan on Saturday (21Jun14) after an angry mob blocked his entrance to the venue.
The Hustlin' hitmaker was scheduled to perform for fans at the Summer Jamz gig in the Chene Park Amphitheater, but reports suggested that upon arrival, he was faced with a "human blockade" of around 150 people and he subsequently called off the gig.
A spokesperson for the venue seemingly confirmed the stand-off, adding that "conditions were becoming threatening and posed a security risk".
Ross now tells Tmz.com that he was actually unable to gain access to the concert because the gate to the facility was locked. He insists no one from his staff or security team was confronted or threatened.
Ross tells the website, "Somebody is deceiving the people of Detroit like Kwame Kilpatrick did." The reference was aimed at the former mayor of the city, who was plagued by numerous legal scandals.
