Richie Sambora, the Bon Jovi lead guitarist and co-songwriter, has made the decision to return to rehab, reports The 51-year-old entered a rehabilitation facility back in 2007 and allegedly decided to return to the clinic on Wednesday to treat his alcoholism (27th April 2011).
Bon Jovi's next scheduled live performance is on 30th April 2011 in New Orleans but it is yet to be announced whether Sambora will be joining the group. In 2008, the guitarist was arrested and charged with Dui in Laguna Beach, California. In the subsequent court hearing, he pleaded no contest. Sambora spent a month in the Cirque Lodge rehabilitation clinic in Utah back in 2007 following his divorce from the actress Heather Locklear and the death of his father from lung cancer, within nine days of each other. Sambora and Locklear have one child together, a daughter named 'Ava Elizabeth'. Recently, the guitarist has been taking a break to recover from exhaustion following his band's recent world tour that included shows in Mexico, Canada, Spain, Brazil, New Zealand and Australia.
Richie Sambora and Bon Jovi front-man Jon Bon Jovi share primary song-writing duties in the hugely successful American rock band. Sambora is also a solo artist, having released two albums, 'Stranger in This Town' in 1991 and 'Undiscovered Soul' in 1998.
