This is one of those stories that, devoid of context, is fun to write a headline for. Context, however, renders is boring and a little bit weird. "If Judy was really ill and in logical mind...,” Richard Madeley would pull the plug on his long-time wife and co-presenter Judy Finnigan, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Madeley continued: "If, when the time came... Judy said to me, 'But what about you? What about the risk of prosecution?', I'd say, 'That's my problem, I'll deal with that, don't worry about it.' Still, anyone wanting to see Richard on TV may not have to wait too long as the presenter did admit that he has one or two ambitions to fulfil before he retires from television altogether, namely Strictly Come Dancing. Having been approached in the past, Madeley has never had the opportunity to commit due to conflicting schedules however he is adamant that one day in the future he will be able to commit to the show. He told the paper: "I would take it very seriously because I'm competitive but I'd have to be free from October to Christmas and so far, the last five or six years they've asked me, I haven't been."
