Pretty Woman star Richard Gere is planning a trip to South Korea later this month (Jun11) to tour Buddhist temples.
The actor, a devout Buddhist and longtime campaigner for Tibetan rights, will arrive on 20 June (11) and meet leaders of the Jogye order, a Buddhist sect, before stopping at the Bulguksa temple in the ancient city of Gyeongju.
He will also stay overnight at Gyeongju's Unesco (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) World Heritage site, which boasts Korean Buddhist art in the form of pagodas, sculptures and palaces.
A spokesperson for the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism tells the Afp, "We are still in talks with Mr Gere to hammer out details (but) the final itinerary will be announced next week."
Gere will also go to Seoul to promote a photo exhibition he took in Tibet.
