Late Hollywood icon Richard Burton will return to the London stage his month (APR06) in a new stage production of THE WAR OF THE WORLDS - as a holographic image. Burton, who died in 1984, narrated US pianist Jeff Wayne's 1978 hit album based on HG WELLS' alien invasion thriller. And the Welsh star had already agreed to the idea of starring in hologram-form before his death over 20 years ago. But the otherworldly idea has been resurrected and will be staged at London venues the Royal Albert Hall and Wembley Arena before embarking on a UK tour. Producer DAMIAN COLLIER says, "We needed a picture of Richard looking face-on and also looking at his most iconic. "We had a debate about which Burton to use because he changed so much during his career but we decided it would be most striking to go for a young version."
