SIR CLIFF RICHARD surprised worshippers in Barbados recently, when he made an unscheduled appearance at their church garden party.
Richard, who keeps a holiday home nearby the St James Chapel, decided on the impromptu visit and performance after church wardens asked him to contribute to their organ-restoration project.
Church committee member JAN GOODIN says, "Seeing Cliff Richard there was such an unexpected delight - what a lovely man he is.
"He's lived on the island on and off for years, so he was just like the rest of the guests, mixing and mingling with everybody."
The Christian star, 65, thrilled his audience further when he joined local steel-pan band the Reddy Panners to perform a version of his 1963 hit SUMMER HOLIDAY.
