The Red Hot Chili Peppers' new album is a cross between "Bulgarian pygmies" and Transylvanian choir groups", according to bassist Flea.

Speaking after the group's performance at the V Festival in Stafford, England this weekend (16/17AUG03), the group promised fans a bizarre new sound.

Flea said, "We're ready to rock. I love the new songs. They sound like Bulgarian pygmies if you crossed them with Transylvanian choir groups. It pretty much sounds like that."

The Under The Bridge band used their set at the festival to pay tribute to 80s rockers THE CLASH - whose frontman Joe Strummer died last December (02) - merging the opening bars of Clash hit LONDON CALLING with their own track RIGHT ON TIME.
