The two Aussies have teamed up with the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP), the Australian Theatre Company in Los Angeles, and the G'Day USA organisation to put together a scheme to help young actors from Down Under find success in the U.S.

Pitch Perfect actress Rebel and her Bridesmaids co-star Rose are both donating around $11,000 (£7,333) each annually for three years to fund scholarships for students aged between 18 and 26.

The recipients will spend a year working with the ATYP in Sydney before travelling to L.A. to work on a project with the Australian Theatre Company and be profiled during the yearly G'Day USA Gala in January, 2017.

"I received a similar scholarship from ATYP, Nicole Kidman and Lend Lease in 2004 which allowed me to travel to New York and develop my writing and performing skills," Rebel says. "The opportunity was invaluable in turning me into the professional that I am today... Australia has so much young creative talent and I am so proud to now be in a position to help and give back."

Rose, whose money will be used to help a female student, adds, "I'm delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to young women passionate about a career in theatre. I know that ATYP will provide a nurturing and professional environment for an artist to learn and grow their art form. I look forward to following their progress and seeing the quality of work that is created."
