Rebecca Ferguson claims she was conned out of £100,000.

The former 'X Factor' star had the six-figure sum stolen from her by ''fake'' friends who she put ''too much trust in'' while she was recording her debut album 'Heaven' in 2011.

Speaking to the Daily Record newspaper, she said: ''I put too much trust in people and they took advantage of me.

''I had well over £100,000 stolen from me by people I trusted. It's really disgusting.''

The 27-year-old singer contacted the police in March and two people, a woman, 52, and a man, 60, were arrested and bailed on suspicion of fraud by false representation.

Rebecca - who has two children, Lillie May and Karl - doesn't believe she'll get the cash back, but wants to see her former pals pay for their manipulative crime.

She explained: ''I think they spent it. It's more the betrayal of trust of people who got really close to me.''

However, the brunette beauty insists some positives came out of the harsh sting because it's taught her to be more cautious of the people she lets into her life.

Rebecca said: ''I think in the last year I've just learned about life. I am more aware of what goes on in the world.''
