THE KINKS star Ray Davies played his last gig for some time on Wednesday night (09FEB05) when he teamed up with trendy rock act the Black Keys at the 15th annual TIBET HOUSE BENEFIT CONCERT.

Davies heads back for surgery next week (begs14FEB05) to have a titanium rod removed from his leg, and he has been told to stay off stage for at least a month.

The rocker had the rod fixed in his leg after his leg was shattered in a shooting incident a year ago (JAN04).

Davies and the Black Keys weren't the only collaborators at the Carnegie Hall benefit; Nellie Mckay teamed up with former PHISH star Trey Anastasio, while PHILIP GLASS joined Lou Reed for a rendition of the former VELVET UNDERGROUND star's classic PERFECT DAY.

The annual event aims to raise awareness of Tibet's occupation by China.
