Sitar superstar Ravi Shankar has no plans to retire, and has assured fans he will play for as long as is physically possible.
The 85-year-old - who recently discovered two of his instruments were broken during a flight from Beirut, Lebanon to Paris, France - hopes to be able to wow audiences for a long time yet.
He says, "I will keep playing as long as my body lets me, and as long as I'm wanted by my listeners.
"Because music is the only thing that keeps me going."05/08/2005 18:56
