The track is the second to be taken from the album, Rosenrot which was released in late 2005. A few songs from which originated in the El Cortijo studios in the Spanish Malaga while recording their 2004 masterpiece Reise, Reise. Other songs, in turn, were produced by the Berlin band in the spring of 2005 in their native Teldex Studio. The genesis of the title song "Rosenrot" is proof that not everything is good right away, even with a band like Rammstein. The song was actually written and recorded for Reise, Reise -- but Rammstein sent the song back to the land of deep sleep. Only now, after a period of ripening, do the six musicians feel the time has come for its release. This calm und deliberate selection of their songs is typical of Rammstein. It derives from the democratic principle that the whole band ideology is based on: Each member's voice counts as much as the other. The Berlin band has thus become a unified whole. And unity here refers not only to the inner circle, that is, the six musicians, but also to those around them. The same team that worked on Rosenrot worked on Reise, Reise. Producer Jacob Hellner, mix master Stefan Glaumann (Toytown Studio, Stockholm), and mastermind Howie Weinberg (Masterdisk Corporation) are the specialists responsible for the unique sound of the Berlin band.
Rammstein's success is based first and foremost on two things: autonomy and backbone. These two elements were present in 1995 when the band's history began -- in those days of still primitive rhythms and uncouth lyrics. The critics made a fuss, but Rammstein refused to be swayed. They continued down their path, searching for the perfect song and the fitting interpretation. Rammstein realized that it is not only songs that capture people's imagination. It is also the visuals. Rammstein continually changes its appearance to match its music. For HERZELEID (1995) they played the suave machos; for SEHNSUCHT (1997) they dressed up with makeup and metal; for MUTTER (2001) they displayed mutilations and for Reise, Reise (2004) they were rifle-bearing cosmopolitans in suits and sod. Yet their courage to evolve never goes too far The element that has been a major component of the band's image from the very beginning still takes center stage: Fire. It burns, blazes, flares, and explodes Ã¢Â€Â“ right on cue and in constantly changing forms: macabre, beautiful, terrifying, fiery, maddening.
