Ralph Macchio says he is not getting carried away despite topping the leader-board on the season premiere of Dancing With The Stars.Ralph Macchio, the American actor best known for starring in 'The Karate Kid' 27-years ago, says he is cautious about his opening night success on Dancing With The Stars, reports OnTheRedCarpet.com.The actor's foxtrot on last night's show stunned the judges and he received 24 out of 30 for his efforts. The American actress Kirstie Alley was MACchio's closest rival, scoring 23. After being installed as the new favourite to win the show, the actor said he was delighted with his performance but added, "I think when I wake up tomorrow and we have to start working on the jive, which is another really tough number and requires a tremendous amount of stamina and is a totally different animal, it will be like, oh boy, we could take a hit here because we came out of the gate so well". MACchio is being partnered by the professional dancer Karina Smirnoff, who has had considerable success on previous seasons of the show.
Ralph Macchio received a standing ovation for last night's performance and afterwards said, "I tried to have fun with it and that's what we did and the crowd lifted it to another level and to hear that the press room was happy too, that's awesome as well!" One contestant will be eliminated from the show on 29th March 2011.
