Reports of a romance first surfaced last week (ends05Feb16), and the Venezuelan beauty fuelled the claims by appearing to confirm she and Amaya were dating.

"I'm fine, really happy... so let's see how it goes," she told the media.

However, Rafael has since put a stop to the speculation about his love life.

The El Senor del los Cielos hunk tells morning show Un Nuevo Dia, "Kimberly I know each other very well... She's a great, wonderful woman, but I'm still single."

Rafael recently hit headlines after he was hospitalised in Mexico City, Mexico in late October (15), suffering from tachycardia, an abnormally fast heart rate.

It was alleged he had also been treated for possible drug intoxication, but the 38-year-old subsequently cleared up the unfounded claims and insisted he felt better than ever after taking some time off from his hit drug drama.

"I was in the hospital for two days," he told Telemundo news show Al Rojo Vivo. "I had a nervous breakdown due to fatigue and stress. I was working consecutively with no vacation for about 10 months or almost 11 months. Like any other human being, I started to get sick.

"I started missing work and Telemundo and I decided that we needed a break to recharge my energy. Go spend time with family and forget (about the show) for a little bit and return as new."

He added, "I don't drink, I don't take any type of drug or anything."
