LATEST: R+B singer R Kelly will not face 12 charges of child pornography in Florida - prosecutors were forced to drop them after crucial evidence was ruled inadmissible.

The IGNITION hitmaker's attorneys won a crucial battle in the case last week (ends12MAR04), when Judge DENNIS MALONEY ruled lewd photographs found on a camera in Kelly's house were seized illegally by police.

Prosecutor BRADFORD H COPLEY writes, "These pictures that were found in Mr Kelly's possession have been suppressed by the court, and the state cannot prove this case without the evidence."

The delighted singer, 37, said in a statement: "My faith in the system of justice has never wavered, and with this victory behind me, I look forward to clearing my name in Illinois.

"As I've said before, I am confident that when all the facts come out, people will see that I'm no criminal."

Kelly faces another 14 counts of child pornography in Chicago, Illinois.
