R&B superstar R. Kelly has cancelled an appearance at a music festival in Namibia.
Last month (Oct16) the Ignition singer, 49, was announced as the headline act at the Windhoek Draught Live Music Festival in Windhoek, the capital of the African nation.
The festival was due to take place at the city's Hage Geingob Rugby Stadium on Friday (25Nov16).
On Monday (21Nov16), the festival's organisers announced Kelly had pulled out of performing and that as a result, they were considering whether the event should go ahead as planned.
"Namconcerts was notified by the R. Kelly management that they are experiencing internal challenges (sic)," a statement posted on Facebook read. "The promoter, Namconcerts are in negotiations with R. Kelly management and a full statement will be released when discussions have concluded."
Bosses at Namconcerts expressed their sincere apologies to ticketholders and the other artists on the bill, explaining that they were now considering whether to hold the festival at all.
Ticket sales have been put on hold until a decision is made, and in the event of the entire festival being cancelled due to R. Kelly's absence, ticketholders will receive a full refund.
