The Western was named Best Movie, the festival's biggest honour, while Samuel L. Jackson was awarded Best Actor, Jennifer Jason Leigh was honoured with Best Supporting Actress, and composer Ennio Morricone received the prize for Best Musical Score at the closing ceremony in Italy.

Of the award, Leigh said, 'The experience of being in one of Quentin's films and a part of this phenomenal cast was rewarding in and of itself, but to be honored by such an incredible institution as the Capri-Hollywood Film Festival makes it all the more meaningful... I am flattered beyond words to be recognised by them this year."

Brie Larson won the Best Actress prize for her role in captivity drama Room, Idris Elba was awarded Best Supporting Actor for Beasts of No Nation, and the drama's filmmaker Cary Fukunaga won prizes for Best Director and Best Cinematography.

Joy director David O. Russell won Best Original Screenplay, Carol scriptwriter Phyllis Nagy was awarded Best Adapted Screenplay, Inside Out was named Best Animated Movie, and See You Again by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth, from Furious 7, scored Best Song.

Lifetime achievement prizes, the Legend awards, were presented to Irish director Jim Sheridan and costume designer Sandy Powell. Rust and Bone actor Matthias Schoenaerts was also honoured with the Revelation of the Year award for his role in The Danish Girl.
