Director Quentin Tarantino hates the idea of being a professional film maker, because he regards it as a hobby and not a job. The Reservoir Dogs auteur has been making films for 20 years, but refuses to join the Director's Guild and ranks himself alongside talented amateurs. He says, "I don't want to be a professional. I'm not in the Director's Guild; I don't want to be. I like holding on to my amateur status."
